Part of Apptimized Care, Apptimized Customizer bridges the gap between automation and control. It allows organizations to define once how their application packages should behave — from naming conventions to installation experience — and automatically applies those preferences to every package.

You might want to disable auto-updates only for browsers, apply a custom detection method for Intune deployment, or add a license file to a single critical app. This is exactly what per-application settings were built for — giving you flexibility where it’s needed, without losing consistency.

Inside the Apptimized Portal, you’ll find per-application settings in the familiar Updates section. When you open an app for editing, a new Care – Customizer tab appears — and that’s where the real magic happens.
Each app now includes three layers of configuration:
1. General settings – overwrite project defaults
You can redefine the same parameters you set globally but just for one app.
For example:
- Change the detection method script template.
- Disable or enable automatic updates.
- Choose whether desktop shortcuts should be removed.
- Set the application’s default language.
These tweaks ensure specific apps behave exactly as needed while maintaining the same packaging workflow.
2. Additional settings – adjust installation behavior
Sometimes one app requires a different approach during installation.
With per-application settings, you can modify:
- Installation parameters — define the exact parameters applied to the application source file during installation. The field displays predefined values used for default Care packages, which can be modified as needed.
- Apps to close — specify which processes should be closed during package installation or uninstallation. Default values are also prefilled, but you can change or add new ones to meet specific requirements.
No more manual edits or workaround projects — everything stays under one roof.
3. Advanced settings – bring your own logic
For even deeper customization, the Advanced section allows you to:
- Add PowerShell scripts at any stage — before and after installation and uninstallation — to automate custom actions using PowerShell or PSADT commandlets.
- Upload additional files such as configuration files, license keys, or prerequisite installers for use within your scripts.
These enhancements are automatically included in the final Care package — ensuring even the most complex scenarios stay consistent and repeatable.
