What is Discovery?
Discovery is a cloud-based application discovery, testing and documentation environment. It is a solution that allows users to install, test, and document the installation and configuration of Windows-based software within their web browser on cloud virtual machines (VMs) automatically.

Discovery is designed for application owners, software engineers, IT professionals, and non-IT business users involved in application discovery, testing, and documentation processes.
Where is Discovery hosted?
The Discovery SaaS platform is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the EU West (Netherlands) region, with the VDI component being hosted at Hetzner in Germany.
What is Discovery's advantage over Snipping Tool, SnagIt and other screencapturing tools?
Discovery comes with "always-fresh" virtual machines, which you would need to obtain elsewhere otherwise (or use your local computer, worst case). VMs can be reverted to their fresh state at any time. You can also create VM snapshots to save intermediary states of your work and roll back to them as needed. Discovery also creates HTML and PDF documentation files automatically, so you can avoid the hassle of inserting screenshots into Winword.
Which operating systems do you provide for Discovery?
We ship 3 default images as part of an out-of-the-box experience: Windows Server 2016 (Widnows 10 desktop experience) Windows Server 2012 R2 (Windows 8.1 desktop experience) Windows Server 2008 R2 (Windows 7 desktop experience) We also do provide VDI and physical machines on-premise with Apptimized TO GO option for any Windows OS younger than Windows 7 w/o .NET Framework 4.6
Can I have my own OS images?
Yes, you can provide your own virtual disk images (bring your own image).
Can I have Windows 11 without bringing my own image?
If your license agreement with Microsoft permits, we can host instances of Windows 11 on your behalf. Those instances / images are exclusive to you, as well as the underlying physical hosts.
How many users and projects can I have?
With an enterprise license you can have unlimited users, yet the number of concurrent users is 50. You can assign free "seats" to your users at any time as needed. The number of projects you can have is infinite.
