Apptimized now delivers MSIX packages

Apptimized MSIX packages

Latest Microsoft packaging format supported

Apptimized is pleased to announce that support for MSIX is now available in release of version 6.2.1, released today.

Apptimized customers can now request or create application packages in the new MSIX format.

MSIX Packaging Opportunities

MSIX was launched by Microsoft at their //build conference in Seattle earlier this year. According to Microsoft, “MSIX is a Windows application package format that provides a modern packaging experience to all Windows apps. The MSIX package format preserves the functionality of existing app packages and/or install files in addition to enabling new, modern packaging and deployment features to Win32, WPF, and WinForm apps.”

More information on MSIX is available here.

Apptimized CTO Mathias Baumann commented: “Our close relationship with Microsoft has enabled us to bring MSIX to our customers as quickly as possible.
